RTOS Organ Concert

The Rochester Theater Organ Society is proud to present Nathan Avakian to perform on the Wurlitzer pipe organ performing at the Rochester Auditorium Theater, 885 E.Main St. Admission to RTOS concerts for non-members is $15 per person. Memorial Day Ceremony of Remembrance

Jazz & Food Truck Rodeo

The Town of Penfield will hold a Jazz and Food Rodeo at Penfield Amphitheater and Kiwanis Stage on Friday, May 31, 4:30 – 7:00 pm. This new event will kick off Penfield’s summer Amphitheater season and is sure to be fun for the whole family! “This year’s amphitheater season is filled with exciting programs and the food rodeo is a new and very dynamic addition that our recreation team conceived to enhance the 2013 kick-off,” said Supervisor Tony LaFountain. “Our goal is to continue to grow and expand the amphitheater series to best serve all of our residents.” The event will feature 6 area food trucks - Tuscan Wood Fired Pizza, Frozen Delights, Wraps on Wheels, Brick-N-Motor, the Dough Boys, and Chowder Up Seafood. The trucks will have windows up at 4:30 pm. Food will be sold at the food trucks’ prices. The jazz will be performed by Penfield High School jazz groups, beginning at 5:00 pm. The jazz is free. Penfield Amphitheater and Kiwanis Stage is located in Veterans’ Memorial Park, behind Penfield Town Hall at 3100 Atlantic Avenue, Penfield. Annual Penfield Rotary Charity Golf Tourney

The Penfield Rotary Club is holding the Wally Ashnault Golf Tournament. This event will be held at the Shadow Lake Golf Club at 1850 Five Mile Line Road in Penfield. In honor of his 50 years of membership in Penfield Rotary, the annual Penfield Rotary Golf Tournament has been named in honor of Wally Ashnault. For an entry fee of $100, you will receive 18 holes of golf with cart, lunch, and dinner. Other options and sponsorships are available – refer to the registration form. Your participation in the tournament will help us fund service projects that benefit our local and international communities.

RARA June Meeting

Topic: “Field Day 2013". Each year during the fourth weekend of June more than 35,000 amateurs in the US and Canada practice for emergency communications by setting up their gear in public places, often away from the mains, so that they can communicate with each other and with hams from around the world. Despite the serious nature of emergency communications, Field Day has become an annual contest and an opportunity to get out and have fun with our fellow amateurs. At the next RARA meeting Jon Dickason, N2JAC, is going to talk about his involvement in field day and share his experiences with us. See you in the Firehouse as usual, and remember; the donuts will be fresh and the coffee will be hot.

Dayton's Corners Open House & Pie Social

Dayton’s Corners School is a former one room school building in the town of Penfield, New York. Erected in 1857, it sits at the corner of Plank Road and Creek Street and was part of Penfield District #9. It is the only one-room school house in the area that is still standing and has not been converted to some other use. The red brick building was designated a Penfield Landmark in 1983 and added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 5, 2001.
