Women’s Club Of Webster September Kickoff Meeting
Thursday, Sep. 21, 2017 (4:45 pm - 7:45 pm)
The annual meet-and-greet kick-off: event of the Women's Club of Webster will feature a presentation by a small group of Webster High School student volunteers. They will be sharing their inspirational experience of mentoring Special Needs students, fulfilling the mission of a new High School Basketball league. They will talk about volunteering for these special needs basketball teams started and run by Webster students
This dinner meeting will take place on Thursday, September 21st at the Penfield Country Club, 1785 Jackson Road, Penfield.
Food and friendship mix and mingle social at 4:45 pm.; Business Meeting at 5:30pm. The dinner begins at 6:00pm. with the program to follow. The price is $24.00. The 3 entree choices are Veal Parmesan with Penne and a salad, Chicken French with Angel Hair pasta and a salad and Salmon Salad. All dinners include coffee, tea, rolls and butter.

The Women's Club of Webster is an active community service organization that has generously supported many worthwhile causes for over half a century. Their motto is “Friendship through service” and the theme of their enthusiastic membership is “We work hard for the community but we also have fun.
Meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of each month, from September to June and women in Webster and the surrounding areas are invited to attend.

Community Bike Drop
Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017 (10:00 am - 1:00 pm)
The Town of Penfield and Penfield Rotary will hold their Annual Community Bike Drop on Saturday, October 7 at Penfield Community Center from 10:00AM - 1:00PM. Bring your unwanted adult bikes, children's bikes, tricycles, and toddler's plastic bikes to donate to R Community Bikes. Bike parts are also needed.
R Community Bikes is a grassroots, 501(c)3 organization that collects and repairs used bicycles for distribution, free of charge, to the Rochester area's most needy children and adults. Visit their website for more information

Blood Donor Drive

The Women’s Club of Webster is sponsoring a Blood Donor Drive on Thursday, October 12 from noon - 7:00pm at Webster Recreation, 1350 Chiyoda Dr. Blood donors will be rewarded with the Club’s celebrated supremely scrumptious homemade cookies to enjoy with their juice.
If you donated on or before August 12th you might be eligible to donate. A 56-day waiting period is all that is required between donations. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 1-800-RED-CROS (1-800-733-2767). Appointments are not required. Donors should feel free to just drop in.
The Women's Club of Webster is an active community service organization that has generously supported many worthwhile causes for over four decades. Residential Fall Recycling Day at DPW

LOCATION: DPW complex, 1607 Jackson Road, call 340-8710 SUMMARY OF SERVICES FOR PENFIELD RESIDENTS ONLY: • Brush collection by the Town of Penfield (no grass) • Metals & Appliances collection (Alpco) • Document Destruction/Shredding (Eco-Green Park) • Clothing/linens, on-site drop-off (St Pauly Shed) **NO ELECTRONICS RECYCLING**
Recycling Day is for Penfield residents only. Proof of residency will be checked at the gate. Please direct questions to the Department Public Works, 340-8710, Monday–Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Event Resources: Eco-Green Park certified document destruction (www.eco-greenpark.com) Alpco metals recycling (see www.alpcorecycling.com/metals-recycling.html#ferrous for metals that will be accepted) St. Pauly Textile Shed DPW will also accept brush (no grass) on-site. ***To dispose of items NOT collected at this event consider: Monroe County’s year-round Ecopark facility is located at 10 Avion Drive near the airport. Ecopark is a joint effort between Monroe County and Waste Management that provides county residents with a “one-stop drop-off” to dispose of or recycle many items including hard Styrofoam packing material (not foam trays used for meat or produce), cooking oil/grease, fluorescent lights, clothing, sharps and syringes, and more. Ecopark offers regular collections for NO FEE. Ecopark also offers many special collection days for household hazardous waste and pharmaceutical and medication disposal. For hours and more information go to www.monroecounty.gov/ecopark. To dispose of televisions and electronics contact retailers that sell those products. New York State law prohibits trash haulers from collecting electronic waste.


Penfield Rotary Fall Euchre Tournament
Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017 (2:00 pm - 7:00 pm)
The Penfield Rotary Club holds euchre tournaments each Fall and Spring. Proceeds from these tournaments are used to support our various community and international service projects.
The 2017 Fall Tournament will be held on October 15, Sunday of the Buffalo Bills bye-week, at The Legacy at 40 Willow Pond Way in Penfield. Check in starts at 2:00, and play starts at 2:30. Tickets are $20 if purchased in advance, or $25 at the door. $1,000+ in prizes will be awarded, including $425 in cash. Prizes will be awarded based on scores from 8 games. Participation will be limited to 100 players. before and during games. Prizes awarded to the top 10 players based on scores from eight games. Over $1,000 in Prizes, including $425 in Cash.
There are four ways to Register ahead of Time: 1) In person at Family First Credit Union, 2520 Browncroft Boulevard. 2) Mail a check payable to Penfield Rotary Club to Penfield Rotary Club, P.O. Box 28, Penfield, NY 14526. Must be postmarked by the Monday before the event. Your ticket(s) will await you at the registration table. 3) Phone no later than the Friday prior.
